Does N-SULATE work by reflectivity or absorption?
N-SULATE does not insulate by means of reflectivity or absorption. It insulates by means of low thermal conductivity. It has been tested by a number of independent testing authorities. The ISO Standard 8990:1999 for Thermal Performance of Building Assemblies, testing data shows not only thermal flow, but also thermal resistance and Uvalue of the wall sections being tested. The result equates to a 34.8% decrease in thermal flow through the substrate with N-SULATE applied. Another test that was done by the Federal Electric Company for the government of Mexico, which qualified the coatings for their energy saving rebate program. One significant part of their testing was to test both daytime and nighttime hour energy savings. N-SULATE was shown to reduce heat transfer over both.
