Does my PC system clock set the time of arrival/departure of my em@ils?
The way the time gets set on a message depends on the details of your e-mail system. However, for Web-based e-mail systems such as Yahoo, it’s generally the Web server that sets the time, not your PC. The local time display of your e-mails is controlled by the time zone that you’ve selected in your online e-mail profile, but internally the time of the e-mails is usually in UTC, and that time is obtained from the computer that handles the e-mail (such as a Yahoo computer). If you are using an e-mail program that runs on your own PC (not e-mail accessed via the Web), the time may be set by your PC, or it may be set by the e-mail server that receives and sends your e-mails, depending on exactly which program and system you are using.
