Does my indoor cat need yearly vaccinations ?
You don’t say which vaccinations they get yearly. The current protocols for indoor cats now say that vaccinations can be given every three years for FVRCP (distemper) and rabies. Every year is over vaccinating cats in the opinion of most feline researchers. And if your cat is strictly indoors the FeLV vaccine is not needed at all. Many Siamese for some reason react very badly to the FeLV vaccine, so perhaps this is his problem? Read about the recommended vaccine schedule here: http://www.catvets.com/uploads/HTML/Vacc… It’s a bit “technical” but you’ll see that it only recommends the FVRPC and rabies for cats, every three years, and none of the others for indoor cats.
