Does my hotpoint aquarius 900 wm61 washing machine need a hot water feed?

My machine had a hot and cold supply of water and it worked fine. I have moved and now the machine has only a cold water supply. The powder tray does not empty completely and some of the cycles do not complete. Does this machine require both feeds or did it die in the move. I could install a hot water feed but if the machine is broken I don’t want the hassle. I suppose it could be the water heater but I don’t know.
