Does my high school student need homeschool accreditation to graduate from high school?
No! Homeschooling is a perfectly viable, legally recognized means of education in the state of Georgia and all other states in the U.S. All of us who are homeschooling now owe a debt of gratitude to those who have “went before us” and fought for the freedoms we are able to enjoy and often take for granted. Colleges and universities around the country recognize, accept, and even recruit home school students. They have specific admissions policies for home educated students, and often separate scholarship opportunities. Accreditation is simply an option for homeschoolers to consider. There are many benefits to accreditation, which we will cover in part in this FAQ, and are also listed in other Ivy Manor materials.
