(A) Virginia & Massachusetts law requires that all horses gathered for a show or sale MUST have a negative EIA (Coggins) test within the past 12 months. The show has contacted the Virginia State Veterinarian, who has provided the following guidance to interperate the law for foals. Any foal over 6 months of age MUST have a current negative EIA. Any foal that has been weaned, regardless of age, MUST have a current negative EIA. A foal, less than 6 months old and currently nursing, may be considered to be on the dams current negative EIA test.
