Begining production of the MK3’s, all vehicles, excluding the 1994 Corrado started with OBDI systems. Therefore if you own a 1993 – January 1996 United States or 1992 – January 1996 Canadian / Europe MK3, you have a OBDI system. It wasn’t till the February 1996 (1996.5 model year) that the Jetta / Golf / GTi recieved the OBDII system. Check inside your driver door for the car’s built month and year, and underneath the hood for the catalyst priniting. Now, there are some minor exceptions, but that’s the majority run-down known to the public.
