Does mtvU intend to make a commitment to campus media?
At mtvU’s core is a commitment to empower the country’s college students with a national platform to showcase their work, mobilize for positive social change and launch their careers. Student-produced content is the backbone of mtvU, and the network looks forward to providing student journalists with new and exciting opportunities to have their work seen by a national audience. In the past, mtvU has partnered with the New York Times, Newsweek and Billboard to give college students the chance to be published in these respected publications, and together we’ll work to create even more of these opportunities in the future. Additionally, when mtvU formed, it launched “U Grants” to fund student activists’ pro-social initiatives with up to $1,000 every week of the school year; we’re exploring the potential of establishing a college media foundation that would play a similar role, and if there is student interest in such a foundation, we’d love to hear what kinds of tools and opportunities we
