Does MMA focus on any type of spiritual development etc like any other Martial Art?
I don’t participate in mma, but in all fairness to those that do i must say that all mma students are not bone heads that look for fights. There are some and I think that there may be (but how do you prove it?) a higher percentage of those types than in traditional martial arts. But all you have to do is read the comments made in this section to see that there are some people in traditional arts that are also trying to act like bad-asses. No reputable instructor would allow or condone that kind of attitude in their students. But then it is almost impossible to control what students do outside of class. All my students are told from day one that if they go looking for trouble and I find out about it, they will find trouble they don’t want. To answer your question about spiritual/moral development in mma…… I have never heard of a mma school teaching anything except how to do what they do. There may be some out there that teach such things, but if so it is rare. What comes into mma al
