Does mls soccer get the same attendance as Nba basketball?
It depends on the stadium. The NY Red Bulls play in Giants Stadium and could hold nearly 70,000 fans while the KC Wizards and SJ Earthquakes play at a temporary location that holds 15,000 or less. In the long-run, MLS wants all clubs to have a soccer-specific stadium which would hold between 20,000 to 25,000 fans. Most NBA arenas hold around 18,000 to 20,000 fans. Of course, NBA tickets are 2-5 times more expensive than MLS tickets… Plus MLS matches are not as well attended as NBA games. Even the worst NBA teams can average 15,000 fans a game, while most MLS clubs would love to average that number (LA Galaxy road matches does shrew the average) .
