§229.164(o)(7) The TFER does not address the type or size of the milk container. Milk is a commercially processed ready to eat potentially hazardous food and must be date marked at the time that the original container is opened, if the milk will not be consumed within 24 hours. The container must be marked with the “consume by date”. Milk in a dispensing machine may be marked by an alternative method that is acceptable to the regulatory authority.
