MGH does not have internship or externship programs for nursing students. However we do hire nursing students into Patient Care Associate (PCA) roles for the summer months. To qualify, students must have completed one or two clinical rotations and meet the requirements of a skills competency checklist. Students are hired as per diem employees and work hours on the unit as needed (which can be up to full-time, 40 hours).
