Does metformin delay period for women with PCOS?
If you have mild PCOS with regular (albeit anovulatory) periods then I don’t think met is the medication for you- I think clomid is a more appropriate medication. Met works by preventing insulin affecting the hormonal function, which leads to absent or infrequent periods. If you don’t have a lot of the symptoms of PCOS then your insulin function is probably normal- did your doctor check this before putting you on Met? I’d ask for a blood test to check this before continuing on it. It might be worth taking another pregnancy test just to double check. But met can make women feel sick, so this could be the cause. Go back to your docs if it isn’t working for you, and ask about clomid instead xx don’t be tempted to buy it over the internet, where it is unregulated (and illegal in UK).
