Yes, the 2400 bps MELPe sounds better than the MELP. Furthermore, Compandent’s MELPe suite (a.k.a MELPe++ or MELPe-Plus-Plus) sounds even better, since over the past years we have fixed numerous bugs and issues in MELPe, some of which even originated from the old MELP.
