No, Medicare only covers a predetermined number of days in a skilled nursing home following an injury, accident, illness. Assisted Living Communities are, for the most part, private pay communities. Medicaid offers an Auxiliary Grant that covers low-income individuals that have limited assets. However, many assisted living communities do not accept that grant.
