Does Medicare cover counseling in Hospitals or Nursing Homes?
Medicare part B does not cover services in any environment for which Medicare part A is the primary payor. Light Years Geriatric Mental Health cannot bill Medicare for services provided in a hospital or rehabilitation facility. When a nursing home stay is being paid privately or by Medicaid, Light Years Geriatric Mental Health can bill Medicare part B for services.
