Does Mecca provide virus scanning on incoming emails?
Although we highly recommend clients to install decent Anti-virus software on their computers, we do have some basic virus filtering rules implemented at our server level: – Email attachments with .pif/.scr/.vbs are automatically purged. They will never be delivered to your mailbox; – Our spam filter attempts to catch bogus ‘virus warnings’. Bogus ‘virus warning’ are marked as “Suspected Spam” in your mailbox. Keep in mind that the above virus filtering rules are not meant to replace the Anti-Virus software in your computer. For those clients who do not have Anti-virus software installed, we suggest to purchase Anti-virus software from McAfee (http://www.mcafee.com) or Symantec (http://www.symantec.com). From our experiences, McAfee seems to be able to detect and clean viruses more accurately. 63.
