Microsoft System Center Mobile Device Manager (MDM) 2008 Service Pack 1 does not support installation of MDM server roles on Windows Server 2008. Installation of MDM server roles is supported on Windows Server 2003 only. However, MDM 2008 SP1 supports Windows Server 2003 and Windows Server 2008 Active Directory domain and functional levels.
