Does Mayor Amicone Have Politically Vested Interests?
Since April 2009, Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone (pictured) has committed himself to using the Yonkers Police Department (YPD) as his personal fodder in a political game in which he has blamed the Yonkers City Council for not complying with his request for funds he requested be allocated the YPD. The Yonkers Mayor Phil Amicone’s Proposed 2009 – 2010 Budget was a self delusional document that permitted Mayor Amicone denial of the fiscal facts that bode ill upon Yonkers. Enabled by Finance Commisioner James LaPerche, whom Mayor Amicone cajoled to embellish conjectured Sales Tax Revenue figures, Mayor Amicone astutely surmised that his financial template would easily be construed legitimate in Albany but that everyone in Yonkers knew was a monotonous, but well tested ruse. Now, if only he could also dupe the Yonkers City Council into believing the unsupportable numbers espoused and sworn to by Commissioner LaPerche. It worked.
