Does Masthay Studios create second editions?
We do not create any second editions from the original plates. The fact is, we couldn’t if we wanted to. The technique used for our linoleum block prints is called a reduction print. This means that the same linoleum plate is carved away between colors creating an overlap of colors on the actual print. Therefore, the plates self destruct through the printing process.
