Does mass conformity lead to the loss of individuality?

0

I think it certainly does, especially when acquiring and approving the ideas of peace and familiarity offered by conformity. However, as human beings, I believe that scientifically speaking, we’re meant to live in ”packs” so to speak, and can only live as segmented unities. The rest die out, like Punks or unsung war heroes that only serve as a testament and motivation to confirm. Even most of the so called rebels and black sheep act like all the thousands of other people who want to be different. Well maybe it doesn’t mean you lose your individuality, but you certainly suffer in silence because most cultures and societies demand that you abide by their ethics and morality in order to benefit from what you need to live as a ”happy” person. It’s the equivalent of saying ”I respect your opinion, but please stfu.” I mean I may consider myself a rebel, but I work to pay for my rent and Internet on which to say this on. :/ Maybe that’s straying from the subject though.

No amount of conformity can quell individuality. No amount of individuality can offset conformity.
