Does Maranathas accrediting agency dictate Maranatha policy, standards, student code of conduct, or hiring practices?
Absolutely not. I have heard reports that some colleges which become accredited are not allowed to teach certain classes, hire certain individuals, or enforce certain codes of conduct. That is not true of NCA. Our accrediting body does not set policy. They do insist that we have clear personnel policies, consistent with our mission and purpose, for employment. The agency simply verifies that our policies and actions match our mission and purpose. 5. Does accreditation dictate course content? The only interest accreditation has in course content is whether the course helps the student achieve the institution’s goals. For example, a few years ago we met with our NCA advisor to bounce off some ideas for new course offerings and degree programs.
