The ARM7TDMI-S Core we use has excellent Multiply and Multiply-Accumulate capability and can be run at 60 MHz offering good DSP capability. See spreadsheet (bottom of this document) describes the Multiply and Multiply-Accumulate instructions and how long they take to execute.
