0

Since 1951 Los Angeles County has used volunteer Amateur Radio Operators to augment disaster relief communications. A partnership exists with the Los Angeles Sheriff’s Department at the Emergency Operations Bureau for the Los Angeles County Board of Supervisors. They are based at the County Emergency Operations Center, operate at Sheriff, Police & Fire Stations, Hospitals, Emergency Operations Centers ( EOC ) in 56 Cities, and with other agencies. The City of Los Angeles has the Auxillary Communcaitions Service (ACS) and individual cities have their own Ham Radio centric Disaster Service Workers ( DSW ).
