Does LJEC disconnect for non-payment during the winter?
• LJEC can and does disconnect for non-pay regardless of the temperature in both winter and summer. See co-op rules and regulations for details. • If you think you will be unable to make a payment, be sure to contact our office before the due date, which is the 26th of the month. • In many cases, co-op personnel will try to work out a satisfactory payment arrangement. • It is the consumer’s responsibility to contact LJEC to try to make payment arrangements. • Help may be available from several area agencies. Click here for a copy of the help list. • LIEAP, is a federally funded energy program which provides an annual benefit to help qualifying households pay home fuel and energy purchases. Forms are usually available beginning in mid-January. • LJEC is not regulated by the Kansas Corporation Commission, and therefore, is not under the Cold Weather Rule.
