CE: I think no matter where you live, the people and the surroundings around way help shape the way you are going to sound. I think with us, we picked up on the energy and the passion of the people around us and it helped make us what we are. Where we’re from, people aren’t impressed, so you have to bring it right away or else they aren’t going to pay attention to you at all. AM: How was it recording in the Mars Volta’s studio in L.A.? CE: It was great. We had tried to work on our EP there as well, but due to money issues, we actually had to record the album in a storage room there of all things. This time around, we had the money, so it made it easier to record there. Funeral Party opens up for Julian Casablancas at St. Andrew’s Hall on Monday, April 5th. Tickets are $20 and are available at www.livenation.com. Additional band info and tour dates can be found at www.myspace.com/funeralparty.
