Does lip piercings hurt?
They are supposedly one of the least painful piercings – just slightly more so than ear piercings, and even less so than ears pierced with a gun. The reason is because it’s a very fleshy area, and not all that thick when you think of it. It all depends on your personal pain threshold, of course, but out of the many, many experiences I’ve heard, only a couple people felt significant pain. Think to yourself “it won’t hurt”, and it won’t – your mind is powerful. I’ve heard it described the most as a “hot sensation”, or a “quick pinch”. Most people say if it did hurt, only for a moment… The real pain occurs after, but that’s just a dull ache, and can be treated with painkillers. Note: don’t take anything before you go, as it thins the blood and may cause you to bleed more. Don’t try to freeze it, either, or it could cause problems.
