Does Liberty Intermodal charge different rates based on the size of the containers used?
No, Liberty Intermodal bases its rates on steamship line supplied equipment, and as a result, our rates are the same to each point for standard 20ft, 40ft, 40ft or 45ft high cube containers, as well as flat rack and open-top units providing that the consignee or shipper provide the labor to install the needed accessories or cargo securing devices needed for safe shipment. Liberty Intermodal does handle containerized reefer cargo. However, there are restrictions, and a surcharge does apply to these services.
