It doesn’t exactly turn rancid, but it will oxidize. If you’re using it on t he skin, it’s best to only use it for about six months. You can use it longer if you store it properly (airtight, dark bottle, stored in a cool place, don’t leave the cover off for long, refrigerate it if possible).
