Does La Salle still look at students if they have good grades, but lower SAT scores?
Always encourage a student like this to still apply and suggest they take their SATs again. We do have a program called AEP (Academic Enrichment Program) for qualified students with lower SAT scores (below 1000). This program is designed to help these students enter La Salle and gives them the opportunity to experience extra advising and help in their first semester at La Salle. This is a very competitive program and we do only accept a certain amount of students. If a student is accepted into the AEP program, they go through an extra week of orientation in the summer before school starts and they are only able to take four classes instead of the usual five in their first semester. Students do not apply to this program. It is up to the individual Admission Counselor to determine if the student will benefit from this type of program and if the student will be successful at La Salle.
