Does Kelty have safety standards or certifications for their KIDS products?
Safety is the number one priority for all Kelty Child Carriers & Baby Joggers. All Kelty KIDS products are thoroughly tested, both in the laboratory and the field, prior to production. Kelty is actively involved with the American Society for Testing and Materials (A.S.T.M.) and the Juvenile Products Manufacturers Association (JPMA) to make sure our products are in compliance with the latest safety standards. Weight Restrictions Kelty K.I.D.S. frame carriers – Kelty’s K.I.D.S. carriers are intended for children between 16-40 lb. We don’t have a specific limit to the child’s height or size, as long as the child doesn’t exceed the weight limit of 40 lb. Kelty K.I.D.S. infant carriers – For newborns and infants we recommend soft/front carriers intended for infants between 8-25 lb. The harness system on our soft carriers are designed to evenly distribute infants weight throughout the adult’s back, reducing strain on the neck and shoulders.
