Does kelp get its iodine from salt-water?

There is no iodine in Sea Salt. The iodine in table salt is added (iodized=the process of adding iodine) because it was noticed that people weren’t getting enough iodine in their diet. “Salt water” is called that beacuase it tastes salty (and does indeed contain salt), but it also contains just about every other mineral you could imagine. Kelp does get it’s iodine from sea waters, but not the “salt” component itself.
