Yes, beginning with JAVA 1.4.2 Service Refresh 10, JAVA 1.5.0 Service Refresh 7 and JAVA 6.0 Service Refresh 1, JRIO supports dataset type=large. It is important to note that there are z/OS system and application updates that are required to support dataset type=large. It is recommended that you review the information in the publication titled DFSMS Using The New Functions and specifically the chapter that addresses “Using Large Format Datasets” in preparation for using this function.
