Does jogging after sex affect successful conception?
Not if you are used to that level of exercise already. If you are exercising excessively – to the point where you have hardly any body fat and your periods are irregular or have stopped, your fertility will probably be impaired. If this is not the case, and your exercising is moderate, there is no evidence that bouncing up and down or jarring your body affects conception or implantation. However, the only way to get really solid evidence from which to make definite recommendations is by taking thousands of women and doing a randomised controlled trial of jogging after sex! This is obviously not feasible. So any recommendation we can make is really an informed belief rather than a proven fact. If you have been trying for a long time, have had recurrent miscarriages or have other concerns about your fertility, the safest thing may be to do a gentler exercise like walking or swimming instead. The only other thing that is relevant is body temperature. Very high body temperatures are not go
