Does Jesus speak of another prophet to come after him?”
Jesus was very clear that HE was returning. That He would return as the conquering Messiah, now that the atonement for sin has been paid. I’m reading Behind the Revolution (a great book) and even the Moslems (the Shi’ite ones, anyway) think He’s coming back, but only after some other Moslem guy. Yikes. No, Jesus never mentions anyone but Himself returning. In fact, Jesus did speak of folks coming after Him: “Beware of false prophets, which come to you in sheep’s clothing, but inwardly they are ravening wolves” (Matthew 7:15). Adam and Eve were created in God’s image and these verses give us an idea of how we were created like God, three ways we reflect His image, in knowledge, righteousness and holiness. When human beings sinned this image of God was distorted, Knowledge fell to ignorance (not knowing God’s will / law) Righteousness fell to sin (breaking God’s law) Holiness fell to idolatry (serving other gods, false gods, self, etc…) Prophets were meant to restore God’s people to knowledge Priests were supposed to r
