this morning, getting cereal for the younger ones, juice for the baby, a garbage bag for the trash can, I am taking every precaution to move slowly and patiently through all my actions. That’s what made me write this. To move slowly and patiently through all my actions. That’s a life philosophy by which we are supposed to live. To take things one day at a time. To simplify, simplify, simplify, as Henry David Thoreau had put it. What took Thoreau hanging out on a pond in the woods in the 19th century to slow down his life and live meanly, deliberately takes a few moments of puking into the can for me to slow down and live as a simple man. No amount of appreciation exists in me for living meanly unless I am sick and unable to move too fast thru my day. Can’t afford my cell phone, so it’s turned off.
