Does it take a lot of inner strength and courage to do what most teens do?
No, it takes a very little outer peer pressure to do what most teens do. It takes a lot of inner strength and courage to resist. Right is right, even if you’re the only one doing it. Wrong is wrong, even if everyone is doing it. Most people have a strong, innate sense of right and wrong. Listen to that quiet voice of conscience. March to your own drummer. Rebellion for rebellion’s sake is counter-productive. Particularly angry, emotionally charged rebellion. There is a place for rebellion too – and its about establishing your place in the world, but doing so while your blood is boiling prevents you from thinking clearly or acting rationally. You can burn a lot of bridges that way.
