Breastfeeding can SUCK in the beginning! During the first 4 months I dealt with a few days of struggling to latch well (by 2 weeks it was fine), HORRIBLE thrush because I thought it was the latch then didn’t treat it properly, low supply due to not pumping enough/properly when I went back to work, and nipple preference (where he preferred the bottle over me) due to the low supply. All those things could’ve been prevented and were (mostly) easily fixed once I knew how. By 4 months we were doing great again and he self-weaned at 2 years old. It does NOT make you a horrible mum to want to give up – we all have moments where we want to give up on being a mum altogether. It’s normal. When we went through the nipple preference I realized how easy it was breastfeeding. It wasn’t until I went through 2 days of mostly bottles that I thought to myself, “Wait a minute, breastfeeding was hard – but this is ridiculous!” All the bottles to wash and sanitize, your baby crying while you mix and warm o
