I just got stitches on my hand a week ago and the stitching part didn’t hurt, but when they give you the numbing shot, that really hurts. Watching the doctor stitch my hand up was so interesting. There was no pain at all but you can kind of feel the sewing happening in your skin. Hard to describe. I don’t know if the length of the shot depends on the depth of the wound, but mine was a pretty long shot. I think the length of the shot was about 10-15 seconds. It burns, stops, stings, stops, etc. It kind of feels like a really really hot needle jabbing you. It stung pretty badly but it is worth it at the end because it will minimize the size of the scar. If knew it was that bad I probably wouldn’t have gotten it, but I am very sensitive to pain. I don’t think you need stitches because you already stopped the bleeding and it was a day ago.
