Does it come as a shock that North Korea has conducted another nuclear test?
North Korea loves to do things in this way – especially when it comes to nuclear testing. The first nuclear test was a shock to people in the same way that this one seems to have come out of the blue. I’m not sure if various international intelligence agencies are privy to information we don’t know about, but for most people, most analysts, this has come as a bit of a shock in the same way the first test was. But it should be remembered that North Korea had threatened a second nuclear test after it was recently condemned in the United Nations Security Council for launching what it described as a satellite test and what the US and Japan and South Korea said was a ballistic missile test. In that way, I suppose, we possibly should have seen it coming; that they might have done something like this. What are the ramifications for North Korea’s neighbours and China in particular? South Korea and Japan are already holding emergency government meetings to discuss this. For China it’s more diff
