I think the issue of shopping in discount shops is a tricky one. By buying from Primark, a person would either accept that this was the origin of their clothing, or ignore it. In addition to this, simply boycotting these shops will not really help anyone. Imagine what the will happen to the families who rely on the wage of their children because their own wages simply are not enough. I think there is a need for a global awareness and desire to solve the issue so those who are being exploited are not made to be more vulnerable by removing their means of making an income. Just a note, I am not saying that child labour is a good thing.

Its a difficult one. Personally I do still shop in Primark dispite knowing what the media has said about the clothes. The reason for that is alot of other shops have also have been reported as unethical and in my opinion possibly alot more still that haven’t been targeted yet. At the moment I think the only way you can guarantee the clothes have been ethically manufactured is to buy from a known supplier of fairtrade clothing. I am also of the opinion that Primark might of been targeted more so then other companies as they are so cheap but do produce clothing that looks in somecases more fashionable then alot of their rival stores which makes them generally popular with people who wouldn’t normally buy budget clothing. These type of people could theoritically avoid a store like primark if they choose to. I am also aware that in the case of primark they are trying to improve in this area.
