Does ISO 9000 Recognize Inspection?

This article discusses the importance of inspection from the standard compliance point of view. Several definitions of inspection are mentioned and the three criteria it is used for are: (1) to make the accept/reject decision; (2) to collect information for later decisions and actions; and (3) to satisfy regulatory or procedural requirements. The four inspection categories are: (1) visual; (2) physical measurements; (3) testing; and (4) sensory.
