Does Iron Mountain backup encrypted files?
• The files need to be accessible by the software (reading rights) If the user that set the encryption is logged on, then the software backs up the encrypted files in the same manner as other files. • For encrypted files on Windows, the software does not backup multiple data streams, reparse points, shared file attributes, or any other standard NTFS file attributes. • If the user that set the encryption is not logged on, or if a user other than the logged on user encrypted the files, then the software backs up the file in its encrypted state as a new file.
