Does IRAS mean there is just one application form for R&amb;D?

IRAS includes the R&D Form which provides study-wide information for R&D review and Site-Specific Information (SSI) Forms which provide local information specific to a particular NHS site. IRAS provides the information that an R&D office requires to review an application to conduct research at that site. Local Principal Investigators should, however, note that the arrangements to conduct any particular study within an NHS organisation will have to fit within the wider clinical and management systems in place within an NHS organisation. Every NHS organisation is a separate legal body and has different systems and organisational structures. It is therefore possible that additional information may be required from an applicant to enable arrangements for the research to be put in place, e.g. internal financial arrangements. The NIHR Coordinated System for gaining NHS permission (CSP) in England and the multicentre review system in Scotland (NHS Research Scotland) only receive applications
