Does intercourse or oral sex increase risk of recurring yeast infection?
A women’s risk for recurring infections may be related to the woman’s immune response to the yeast, and a man generally will not pass a yeast infection on to a woman during intercourse. However, women receiving oral sex are at an increased risk of recurring yeast infections, whether or not the partner has signs of yeast infection in their mouth. Other causes of a yeast infection may be due to a hormone imbalance, high blood sugar, antibiotics, oral contraceptives, or stress. Question # 10: Is the urine-like order around the vulva actually urine, or is it sweat? Answer: Sweat glands have some of the same elements as urine, so it’s common for some women who sweat a lot to experience a urine-like odor. Try washing this area more frequently using mild soap and water. Adding a cornstarch-based powder to absorb moisture may help too. Avoid nylons (underwear and hose), which may foster sweating. If this doesn’t work, talk to your doctor.
