Does INTEGRAfit have to be calibrated?
INTEGRAfit is provided to the end user calibrated and ready to use. As with any electroacoustic equipment, periodic calibration will be needed to ensure accurate results. Calibration of the INTEGRAfit headset requires a special coupling system which is quite expensive, thus it is not practical to calibrate INTEGRAfit in the field. Please return the unit directly to Monitor Instruments for calibration. How often the unit should be calibrated depends upon the version. Because the MI3000-IA version incorporates an audiometer used for OSHA/MSHA audiometric testing, the MI3000-IA must be returned to Monitor Instruments annually for calibration as required by the OSHA and MSHA noise standards. The MI3000-IF version is not used for audiometric testing — it is recommended that the MI3000-IF be returned to Monitor Instruments no less than every three years. What about daily calibration checks? There is no regulatory requirement for such but common sense would suggest the wisdom of a functional
