does importing excel data-time formatted spreadsheets work?

I’ve tried importing spreadsheets in CSV and XLS format. I’ve been successful once w/ xls format and UTC formatted date-time. XLS and excel date-time format does nothing except keep the “data is being processed in background” screen up there until I kill the import (20 lines).
