Does imperialism still exist today?
one example of imperialism is iraq. there are other examples of imperialism but they are not as obvious, and more covert. one of the ways the u.s. and countries like it enforce imperalism is through using the cia. they go into countries to sabatoge them if they dont cooperate with the u.s. kind of like how gangs will come to a business and break the windows or scare the customers, and insist on the store owner paying a protection fee. the u.s. is also known to go into countries and over throw the democratically elected govt, and install a pupet govt, one that will obey the u.s. and support its corporate interest. examples of this hapening is in indonesia, haiti, colombia, thailand, turkey, chile, and even australia. the fact that the u.s. has over 750 military bases world wide will tell you that america has guns pointed at everyones head, and anyone who disobeys will suffer the consequences. since powerful countries no longer colonise countries as they used to, they just overthrow whatever govt they dont like, and replace it with one that is 100% subservient, making it look like a dictator is the one responsible, when in fact, it is western countries (nato) that are behind the scenes pulling the strings. one example of this is sadam husein who was put in power by the u.s. other examples include pinochet, suharto, and ferdinand marcos.
