Does impacted wisdom tooth extraction hurt?
Well you can never tell what the pain level is going to be. Some people have a low threshold to pain and some do not. I had 2 lower impacted wisdom teeth when I went to have mine removed. My dentist suggested that I have all 4 removed at the same time to minimize the pain to one time. He also suggested that it be done by an oral surgeon because the lower were really impacted. That meant I had to be put to sleep. So what happened was I went to the appointment. I was put to sleep and woke up and did not see a thing or remember a thing. I was given a pain killer before leaving so I had no pain when I left. I went home and was given a prescription for a pain killer that I never used because I did not have that much pain. I used aspirin and I was fine. I had the same nervous thoughts you are having but it all worked out well in the end. I had a black and blue face for awhile but not all that much pain.
