Illnesses caused due to presence of E. coli bacteria has resulted in 248,000 lbs of National Steak and Poultry’s beef being removed from six states. Following an outbreak of infections caused due to E coli bacteria, National Steak and Poultry of Owasso, an Oklahoma-based company has announced voluntary recall of beef products from six sates. In total, 248,000 lbs (112,000 kg) of beef is likely to be taken off the shelf. The 248, 000 lbs of recalled beef included Carino’s boneless beef and Moe’s beef steak, other than those marketed under the National Steak and Poultry’s label. Beef loss Various beef products will be recalled from sates of Colorado, Iowa, Kansas, South Dakota, Michigan, and Washington, a recorded telephone message of the company said. Officials in the US Department of Agriculture claimed a huddle of ailments involving the bacteria E. coli were reported in these states.
